Vertical Pelton Turbines
We produce vertical Pelton turbines with a 1- to 6-nozzle design. Whether the nozzles are internally or externally regulated, we offer robust and proven designs for both options. The impeller is exclusively manufactured with CNC milling technology from one forging disc and thus ensures the required quality in order to withstand the loads in an optimal manner. To meet maximum stresses and strains, we offer efficient coating systems to withstand even highly abrasive loads.
Horizontal Pelton Turbines
Where the use of a Pelton turbine with a horizontal axis is indicated, we can offer and manufacture versions with 1–3 nozzles. The impeller is exclusively manufactured with CNC milling technology from one forging disc and thus ensures the required quality in order to withstand the loads in an optimal manner. To meet maximum stresses and strains, we offer efficient coating systems to withstand even highly abrasive loads.

Francis Turbines The Francis turbine is one of the oldest types of turbines and today boasts excellent applications with medium and high heads. State-of-the-art model tests, newly developed manufacturing processes and a highly developed design enable us to achieve peak efficiency levels of more than 94%! We manufacture Francis turbines in horizontal and vertical design.

Vertical Francis Turbines
Vertical Francis spiral turbines are predominantly designed as compact machines. Modern, reliable, tested and measured hydraulic designs guarantee our customers top performance. The impellers are CNC-milled in various technologies and thus guarantee top accuracy according to the model. Our modern Francis designs often enable a large suction head and therefore contribute to significant cost reductions in the structure.
Horizontal Francis Turbines
Our horizontal Francis spiral turbines are characterized by maximum compactness and thus long-lasting design. In many cases, the impeller is mounted directly on the generator shaft. Where this is no longer possible for technical reasons, we are, of course, familiar with robust designs for turbine bearings. By machining the spiral housing in one clamping process at our 5-axis machining center, we achieve top accuracy and tolerances.

Turbines
Kaplan turbines are characterized by a large operating range and enable a highly efficient utilization of the water supply, particularly with low heads. Kochendörfer Kaplan turbines are among the most powerful machine sets thanks to their sophisticated and robust design and recognized peak efficiency levels of up to 95%. Kochendörfer produces various types of Kaplan turbines in a vertical or horizontal design.

Horizontal and vertical Kaplan turbines
We produce Kaplan turbines as vertical machines with concrete or steel spiral turbines as well as horizontal Kaplan spiral turbines with 4, 5 or 6 blades.
The impeller blades are made of high-strength chrome-nickel steel alloys in stainless design and are milled true to line on modern CNC machines. The impeller hub can be supplied environmentally friendly in an oil-free version if required.
We use rolling bearings, water-lubricated or oil-lubricated bearings as turbine guide bearing.
We are very familiar with optimal and durable sealing systems and these are used in such a way as to suit application.
Kaplan Bulb Turbines
Kaplan bulb turbines are built at Kochendörfer as horizontal or vertical machines and coupled directly or via a belt drive or gearbox to the generator.
In addition to optimally designed impellers in 4-, 5- or 6-blade design and optionally oil-free hub, the robust and maintenance-free design of the guide device is among the quality characteristics.
